It’s snow o’clock somewhere….

We may not have snow here in Florida (not where I am, anyway!), but we can always bring some snow into our lives with our own creativity, like the card below.  This card  is one that Esther Asbury created for Repeat Impressions “Anything Goes Challenge”, using Repeat Impressions stamps.  Another one of my fave stamp companies, Repeat Impressions offer a wide variety of images and themes, that are hand drawn and created from high quality red rubber.  This company is near and dear to my heart specifically because I have known the wonderful owners, Bill and Wendy, for many years.

What I absolutely love about this card is Esther’s use of acetate.  I think it is a medium that is often overlooked, but it creates such a gorgeous effect.   Esther used the Penguin Trio, Lg Pine Tree and Snowflakes to create this adorable card.  Make sure that you check out Repeat Impressions blog, as they issue a new challenge weekly, in which you can actually win a gift certificate!  Also, make sure you take a peek at Esther’s blog, Shoregirl’s Creations, to see some more of her stunning creations!

Pink and lime…for Christmas?!?

I know that Christmas has officially come and gone, but there are so many cute and creative Christmas cards to share, that I am going to post Christmas cards until the end of this month.  Maybe you will find some inspiration early on for the Christmas cards that you plan to send next year!  This particular post is about using colors that are not traditional….hot pink and lime green, to be exact.  Therese Calvird, of her blog, Lost in Paper, shares some cards using Penny Black products, with a hot pink and lime green theme.  These cards are simple designs, but very elegant and classy.  I love the fact that Therese literally used just four colors; hot pink, lime green, white, black; to make these beautiful cards.  Don’t be afraid to step out of the box and use different color palettes when making cards for traditional holidays.  Let your creativity loose!

Winter Get Well Wishes

Winter is a beautiful time of year, but it is also a time when germs are in abundance, with everyone being trapped indoors due to inclement weather.  Below is a card using the Little Pickup stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps.  What it took me a minute to notice about this card, is the way the creator used yellow to color in what would be the light beam from the truck’s headlights.  These are details that one would not normally think of, but really make a subtle statement on the card.  I also admire how the creator roughed up the edges of the white cardstock that was used for the snow drifts.  A beautiful card to send to someone who needs that little “pickup” when not feeling well during the winter season.
