Happy Valentines Day!

The card that I want to share today was created by Ardyth Percy-Robb, using A Jillian Vance Design products.  It was made using a masking technique, that is shown in the video below.  Ardyth used the Lovely Hearts Inkboss Inkpression Plate, Stitched Dots Heart Die Set, Grande Greetings Love Word Die, Celebrate Cake Stamp Set, and Stitched Dot Rectangle Backdrop Die Set.  It appears that she used Catherine Pooler inks, which I have not yet tried, but I have seen a lot of positive feedback about them.  I think this looks like a fun, simple and easy card.  I, personally, enjoy fun effects that are easy and not complicated.  Masking is just one of those techniques that creates beauty with minimal effort.  Take a cruise over to A Jillian Vance Designs’ website and have a look the variety of products that they offer.  Also, make sure and check out Ardyth’s blog, MASKerade, for more of her beautiful creations!

Inspiration everywhere…

Stampers are fans of the US Post Office for obvious reasons…..they deliver our precious creations to our intended recipients.  As Leigh Houston shows us, the US Post Office is also a place of creative inspiration!  Leigh posted on her Instagram this sweet card that she created. I was struck not only by its beauty, but also by how much it looked like the USPS Love Flourishes postage stamp, which I believe was her source of inspiration.  In her Instagram post, Leigh states that she used Simon Says Stamp Hope Blooms stamps and Hope Blooms dies.  She also used My Favorite Things More Rustic Wildflower stamps,  and More Rustic Wildflower  and Fab Foliage dies. For the postage stamp die, she used Avery Elle’s Postage Stamp Elle-ments.  I don’t know about you, but this card makes me want to head straight to the post office and get some of these stamps.  It also makes me what to head straight to Simon Says Stamp and My Favorite Things and order the adorable flower stamps and dies!  Remember,  there is inspiration all around you….even in things you  use regularly, like postage stamps!

Love letters by Lawn Fawn

Lawn Fawn is another one of my favorite stamp companies, they have such cute and fun images.  Check out the adorable card below, made using their Love Letters stamp set and Love Letters lawn cuts (matching die cuts).  This is a super sweet card, and can be used for an everyday card, or for Valentines Day.  I also love the script background.  I found this image on Pinterest, but unfortunately could not find the artist to whom to give credit.  None the less, it is a super cute card, using Lawn Fawn‘s great stamps!  Be sure to check out their site, to see all the other fun images and stamp sets that they have to offer.

Clean and simple

Sometimes, when creating cards, less is more.  The card below was created using Stampin’ Up! products, by Erica B. Cerwin, of Pink Buckaroo Designs.  Erica used the Heart Happiness Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Heartfelt Blooms Wood-Mount Stamp Set to create this sweet card.  I love the clean and simple design of this card, which also equates to easy and quick! This would be a great Valentines Day card, but you could also use it throughout the year, just to let someone know that you are thinking about them.  I always like when stamps can be used for more than one occasion, and these sets definitely meet that criteria!  Be sure and check out Erica’s blog, Pink Buckaroo Designs, to see more of her inspiring creativeness.

Start ’em young

For those of you with wee ones Valentines Day is always a fun time to go to the store and pick out Valentines cards for classmates and friends.  Right?  Well, it is, but the selection is usually always the same….Disney Princess, Paw Patrol, Doc McStuffins, Transformers, etc.  This year, switch it up by letting your wee one be the artist and make their own!  Taylored Expressions is offering two different Valentines card craft kits (Fruity Friends and Love Monsters) where your little can be the artist of their own cards that they hand out!  These kits include supplies to complete 24 pre-stamped cards.  Envelopes can be purchased separate, if you so desire, or the cards can be given sans envelope, as the kit comes with a to/from stamp and ink cube for the back of the card!  What better way to instill creativity in your child by purchasing one of these great sets.   Check out the Taylored Expressions website to order yours today!  Get that creativity spark going in your wee one early on!

Love comes in all colors

Valentine’s Day is less than a month away, and there is plenty of time to create some gorgeous handmade cards! Today, I wanted to just take the time to point out that just as love comes in all different colors, Valentine cards can also come in different colors, not just the standard red.  The cards below are from older pins that I had saved on my Pinterest board, Created Cards…..Hearts, so the links or websites may be dated, which is why I am just giving credit to the creator at the end of this post, and not going into more detail.  I simply wanted to spark your creativity when creating your Valentine cards, and maybe give your red inks, markers and cardstock a rest!

Hugs and besos!

Valentine’s Day is less than a month away…so it’s time to display and share some heart and love cards.  I found this card on Instagram, created for Sizzix by Kathy Cano-Murillo, of Crafty ChicaSizzix, known for dies and die cutting machines, has spread its wings to offer other products, such as stamps, paper, jewelry findings, and much more.  Kathy used the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 3PK w/Stamps – Besos Hearts and Sizzix Paper – 6″ x 12″ Cardstock Pad, My Happy Life, to create this stunning card.  I love the background paper for this card, it appears as though it was actually stamped!  You can go to the Sizzix website, to get a look at all the products they offer to bring your creativity to life.  Be sure and check out Kathy’s website, Crafty Chica™, and see all the things she offers with regards to a Latina lifestyle!  Besos!
